My 5th Board, the first Balsa, 10', 23”, 3” – 2#EPS (21 lbs)
Rides like my first board (1965) a Hobie Nose Rider until I play with the fin, then it turns MUCH better.
|
Then came Balsa number 2 at 6'3”, 22, 3” – 1# EPS
Floats too high and is difficult to get up. Once up it rides nice! I'm not used to such short boards.

Balsa number 3 is 9'8”, 21”, 2 ½” – 2# EPS
I wanted a long board that didn't washout when the wave broke, something that would hold it's line. So
narrowed this board and pinched the rails, first board with concave deck. Works good, holds in good and doesn't bounce as much in larger waves. Broke it this winter in 8-10' local waves (face measurement).
